Why SHOULD YOU start journaling?

In my opinion, journaling is the safest space for me to focus on my feelings, celebrate the good around me, acknowledge & work through my challenges, express my gratitude and make commitments to myself to make progressive steps in the right direction everyday. As an added bonus, it is also an opportunity to tap into my artistic creativity with colorful markers, pens, highlighters, stickers, washi tape, stamps etc. In a perfect world, I would have time to journal everyday, sometimes multiple times a day, however that isn’t the case, so when I do have time to journal it is special, it is intimate, fulfilling, and rewarding.

What should I journal about?

Journal about what you feel or don’t feel, something cool you saw, brain dump your thoughts, doodle, and the list can go on & on. There are days where I know exactly what I am going to write about, and then there are other days where I know I want to journal but I can’t quite get a grasp on a specific topic or prompt, so I just freestyle and brain dump. Most of my day is spent focusing on many people, places, and things that by the time I sit down to journal it’s hard to focus on just one specific thing.
